In the County Scor-na-nog finals on Sunday night at St Malachys Castlewellan, Saul were well represented with entries in the Solo Singing (Roisin Sloan), Instrumental Music (Cristina Holland, Sarah McVeigh, Paul Riordan, Brian Riordan and Michael McMullan) and Ballad Group (Grainne Laverty, Claudia Leung-Soon, Nicole Leung-Soon, Sarah McVeigh and Cristina Holland). In a competition of increasing high standards, Roisin Sloan sang brilliantly in Solo Singing but lost out to a Orla McCrickard (Castlewellan) for the County title. The Instrumental Group despite a great performance came in behind new champions Clonduff but Saul's Ballad Group retained their County Title from last year with a confident performance. Well done to all our contestants and good luck to Grainne, Claudia, Nicole, Sarah and Cristina as they represent Down in the Ulster Scor-na-nog semi final at Edmond Rice College Glengormly on Saturday evening (starting at 7pm) . Well done also to the other county champions on the night with Burren (Ceili Dancing), Mayobridge - Claire Rooney (Recitation), Rostrevor (Novelty Act), St Johns (Set Dancing) and Loughinisland (Question Time)
